‘Sex Sells’ – that old phrase is still alive and well online. This latest example is a ‘viral’ site for Perrier, hosted by model Dita Von Teese. The premise is relatively simple, you have to visit a mansion and play some ‘games’ with Dita that result in here showing her stockings, squeezing her breasts, oh and drinking some water.
To keep the punters entertained, the games get ‘raunchier’ as you go through, (no touching Dita as she undresses) and at the end there is no call to action. Just a thanks, and a small invite to the fan page.
But what is the point?
Will it increase my interaction with the Perrier brand? Sort of. Will I buy Perrier next time I am shopping because I have been on the site? No.
Will it make me write about Perrier? Yes. So, this could be viral for viral’s sake.
If this were to be done properly, I would expect Dita branded bottles, a bit like the Diet Coke/Karl Lagerfield bottles which I thought were cool and would buy one. [He can keep his clothes on.]
